About Me
Wellbeing for me is a lifestyle, something I was lucky enough to have instilled in me from a very young age.
My early introduction to yoga was at the age of five; I remember weaving into shapes on the loungeroom floor with my mum, being totally amazed at how effortlessly she could 'pretzel'. I wanted to be just like her (in so many ways)!
Over the years I continued to practice many forms of yoga until two decades ago when I discovered, fell in love with, and devoted more time to Yin. I began to appreciate that yoga is much more than movement 'asana'; it is to 'yoke' or bring together elements of movement, breath, meditation, and philosophies that are yoga.
Fast forward and I am still as passionate as ever about yoga; I am qualified in Yin, The Roll Method ® Techniques and, Hatha and Vinyasa having studied under wonderful, respected international and local (Australia) teachers.
Always a student of yoga I continue to dedicate time for self-practise, ongoing self-study as well as undertaking formal study.
It is such a privilege to have opportunity to share my passion for yoga; to be part of a student's journey in the discovery of the best version of their self.
I hope that next person is you; I hope to be part of your wellbeing journey!

"Mia is a joy to work with being very knowledgeable in her practice and the human body. The atmosphere Mia creates in her class feels calming, safe, and free to express yourself, with no pressure or expectations. I practiced Yin Yoga years ago, prior to being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Arthritis in my lower back, so I was eager to give it a go again but scared of the pain and fatigue I might end up with. From the first class I was amazed that I could do the stretches and hold them for as long as I did. By the end of that first class I felt pain free and so supple which lasted days, I also had the best nights’ sleep. I couldn’t believe it! I now attend a class each week which grounds me and tops up my pain relief naturally rather than taking medication. I am so grateful. "

"I walked into a Yin Yoga class about a year ago having no idea what it would be about. I thought it would be like a regular yoga class with a different name.” “….After more than 18 years sitting hunched up in front of a computer screen for more than 8 hours a day, I suffer from upper back pain and bad posture. Upon getting an MRI I was told that I had a herniated disc, thus the pain. Numerous sessions at the physiotherapist, hydrotherapy or chiropractor only gave temporary relief.” “…I have now been attending the Yin yoga classes regularly with Mia and can say that I have no pain in my back. I can stand for long periods without discomfort. If I sit in front of the computer for long periods of time I feel it coming back so I get up and walk about and really try to sit upright when working. It has made a great difference. I would recommend Yin Yoga to anybody who wants to feel a greater sense of well being and agility"

"I went into my first Yin Yoga class with some trepidation, being the wrong side of 50 with little flexibility, I was worried about being able to stretch into the poses required. Right from the beginning of the session, I felt at ease. Mia’s calm and meditative approach to leading the class made it very easy and very relaxing. Mia caters for all levels of experience, you just hold the poses you are comfortable with. Before I knew it the class was over, I left the class with my body still intact and feeling great. I’ll be back for more. Doug Smith "

"I was initially apprehensive about going to Mia’s class. Flexibility has never been a strength of mine. Let’s put it this way, my fingers have never been acquainted with my toes. But after 2 or 3 lessons, I am hooked. Flexibility has nothing to do with the process, really. The post-class glow and relaxation benefits are significant and something I now look forward to. Add the huge convenience of Mia holding classes at work, and I’m there with bells on……Plus you get to play with balls and bricks! Win-win. Phil Jupp "

"From the moment I stepped into Mia’s studio, I felt welcomed by her loving and calming presence. She hosted a beautiful 3-hour workshop that gently guided us through a deeply nourishing yin yoga session themed around the chakras, followed by a yoga Nidra that left me feeling as if I were floating. Mia’s soothing voice and clear instructions made it easy to tune into my body and truly surrender to the experience. Thank you so much! "
